Boy (10) accused of vile sex acts against four-year-olds

The 10-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is said to have lured the pair from a garden in the Whittlefield area to nearby woodland where he forced them into a series of degrading sex acts.

The youth was questioned by police after the alleged victims, who were found naked and distressed on June 2nd, claimed he had forced them to play a sexual game called “monsters” under threat of violence.

Police have yet to charge the boy with the alleged offences and the decision to allow him back home provoked a wave of fear and anger from families in the area.

The Express understands that the boy has now been moved out of the area following police advice.

But the mother of one of the alleged victims branded the situation “sickening” and claimed the authorities were not doing enough. She said: “This lad is still out there on the streets. It makes us all angry that no-one is doing anything. It is like they are waiting for something really bad to happen before they can do anything.”

The grandfather of one of the alleged victims added: “It is a disgrace. We are scared to death about the safety of our children.”

Det. Insp. Derry Crorken, of Burnley CID, who is leading the investigation, assured the public that the police, social services and other agencies were doing everything in their power to reach a conclusion in the investigation.

He said: “This is a very serious allegation and we are treating it seriously. It is going to a senior CPS lawyer and child sex specialist. Cases like this take time because we have to get it right for the sake of the victims. You need that multi-agency approach to get it right.”

He explained that officers were constantly liaising with the families of the two four-year-old boys and he hoped a resolution would be reached as early as next week.

A Lancashire Constabulary spokesman confirmed: “We are currently working together with our partners, including the CPS and Youth Offending Team to decide on the most appropriate course of action. The neighbourhood police teams are working together with the local community and we would urge anybody with any concerns to contact them.”
