Bomb squad called to Burnley as magnet fisherman finds suspected grenade in canal
Bomb disposal experts are on their way to Lowerhouse Lane in Burnley after a suspected grenade was discovered in the canal this morning.
Road blocks are in place from Lockyer Avenue to Gannow Lane. Police are advising members of the public to avoid the area.
A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: "We received a call at 11-45am today (Friday). A fisherman magnet fishing in the canal discovered the device.
"EOD are on their way to make an assessment and a cordon has been put in place as a precaution."
