‘Body in skip’ man named

POLICE have named the man who was found dead at a waste disposal site in Accrington yesterday morning.

Jason Mark Marren (32), from Burnley, was found at the landfill site in Whinney Hill Road, Accrington.

The discovery was made by employees at the site who spotted the body following a delivery. It is thought the body may have travelled from another site.

A Home Office post-mortem examination has been carried out but the results are inconclusive and further tests will be carried out. There are no obvious signs of a violent attack.

Crime scene investigators have been examining scenes at both landfill sites and they were closed yesterday to allow them to carry out their work.

Specially trained officers are supporting the family of Mr Marren and detectives are keeping them informed of the on-going investigation.

Senior investigating officer Det. Supt Neil Esseen, from the force major investigation team, said: “At this stage I am still treating the death of Mr Marren as unexplained but would appeal to anyone who was in contact with him or aware of his whereabouts on Friday, September 9th, or Saturday, September 10th, to come forward and speak to the police.
