All week, the school held special Colours of the Cross assemblies provided by the Diocese, which told the Easter story through prayer, stories and songs.

The Bishop of Burnley, the Rt Rev. Philip North also visited and re-enacted the story of Jesus washing the feet of his disciples, using the children as disciples.

Headteacher Mrs Sue Cornwell said: “The children had written a series of questions for the Bishop. His answers were heartfelt, entertaining and encouraging for the children to aim high in all their ambitions.

“All the pupils decorated their own boiled egg. Teachers faced a tricky job judging the winner from a different class. The week ended with an egg rolling competition and carrot hunt.”
