He has taken the opportunity to send greetings to everyone living in the region at the start of the new year. And, from Thursday, a short new year greeting for diocese churches and schools across the county will also be available to view.

In it, the Bishop looks forward to the “limitless opportunities” of the year ahead, and issues a call to all parishes and schools to support his summer festival, on June 21st and 22nd at Arnold KEQM School in Lytham, which will also incorporate a Evangelistic Mission Event.

Bishop Julian says: “It has been marvellous to be able to meet so many people during my first Deanery Days which have taken place around the diocese.

“I look forward to the limitless opportunities in 2014. I will spend more time in each of the deaneries during the course of the year and am looking forward to engaging in the many different areas of ministry across the Diocese.

He adds: “I do hope you will join me and make the summer festival a focus for your diary. We will celebrate, learn and discover what God has in store for us together.”

The greetings come less than three months after the Diocese of Blackburn launched its new YouTube channel by uploading a six-minute introduction interview with Bishop Julian, Bishop of Blackburn.
