Bid to move travellers on from Burnley car park

Six caravans arrived on the car park next to Thompson Park in Queen Victoria Road on Wednesday.

The car park is located near to Travelodge and the Brewers Fayre restaurant, a short distance from Queen’s Park and Bank Hall park.

Plans are now afoot to move them and a Burnley Council spokesman said: “It is the same group have been on the Prairie playing fields car park. We had been due to get an order to move them on on Wednesday but just as it came through they moved themselves.

“We are now preparing court papers in view of getting a new court order to move them off this car park.”
