Diners at an Italian coffee shop are living La Dolce Vita now that Bellissimo in Burnley has been named the best in the country.
The popular family business in Parker Lane was named Best Deli/Cafe at the English Italian Awards, judged by top industry professionals.
Run by husband and wife John and Lynn Scibetta, the cafe won the same award in 2015, and relied on a public vote to reach the final, held at the Principal Hotel in Manchester.
A delighted and proud Lynn said: “We are over the moon. We would like to thank our loyal customers for voting for us, which allowed us to beat nearly 6,000 other establishments to reach the finals.
"We were then visited by a number of mystery diners who reported back on our service, as well as food and drink quality. One of the judges said our food was sublime and our coffee far better than any of the chains.
"They said we served with passion, love and our hearts. We are so proud, it has been a real team effort."
The award is a welcome boost for the business, which has suffered from a fire at a neighbouring premises in the last year, leading many customers to believe the coffee shop had closed.
Lynn added: "We lost a lot of customers because of the fire, but hopefully they will see now that we are still open and very much in business."
