He is one of the most loved and respected headline DJs on the scene and on the 20th August he’s coming to Clitheroe Castle! Along with Bontan, Paul Taylor Retro, Davos, Endor, Rock Fms Mark Freejack and more.

Clitheroe Castle is the setting for the event which will be held on Saturday, August 20th.

Organisers Duncan Dickins, Sara Rushton, Nick Kennerley and Robert Valinakis are all local DJs who have been committed to raising vital funds for Cancer Research UK, the charity that researches into all 200 types of cancers. It is close to the volunteers’ hearts as they all have close family members who have been affected or have died because of the disease. Duncan said: “We support Cancer Research UK simply because everybody knows someone who has been touched by this horrible disease and we want to help make a difference to thousands of lives.

“Our evolving event is growing each year thanks to loyal supporters and so far we have raised over £10,000 and plan to match this again this year to support the work of Cancer Research UK. “Its a family friendly event and is all about bringing our community together to enjoy live music in our landmark Clitheroe Castle grounds while raising funds for a seriously worth-while cause.”

The event is funded entirely through sponsorship from local businesses and to help make the festival another huge success, Beats Cancer has now teamed up with Clitheroe Food Festival which is now in it’s sixth year.

Both non profit events are working together to offer opportunities for promotion of local businesses and are aiming to paint the town purple again with large vibrant flags which will be proudly displayed through Clitheroe town centre for the few months leading up to the events.

The event takes place at the Castle Bandstand and grounds between noon and 10pm and will be welcoming acts including Bontan, Endor, OC & Verde, Davos, Paul Taylor, Mark Storie, The Squatters, TWOGOOD and Rock FM’s Mark Freejack. A surprise guest is also due to headline at the festival but their identity is beig ket under wraps at the moment.

There will be licensed bars, hot and cold food stalls, children’s entertainment and more. Danceworks of Clitheroe will open the festival and Guy Richardson Magician will be entertaining guests throughout the day.
