Since opening in September 2011, David Fishwick’s Burnley Savings and Loans Ltd has been keen to support charities and a huge variety of different good causes.

And this year Mr Fishwick has announced they have beaten 2013’s donation total, and will have given well over £25,000 to charities while helping to raise awareness for countless organisations and good causes.

These include the Guide Dogs for the Blind, Blessing in Disguise, the Canalside Community Association, Team RISE project, Petal Cancer Research, Holidays with Help, and Derian House Children’s Hospice.

“Bank on Dave!” not only helps pensioners and hard-working people receive 5% AER on their savings and assist people and local businesses who are unable to borrow from the high street banks through no fault of their own, but also pledges to donate any profits made to charity.

“Bank on Dave!” has continued to stand by that, bettering 2013’s donation of more than £20,000 to good causes including Pendleside Hospice, Parkinsons UK, the Marie Curie Cancer Care and the Histiocytosis Research Trust, to name a few.

Donations have been taking place this week and Mr Fishwick could not be happier with the efforts.

He said: “We set up the ‘Bank of Dave’ to make a difference to as many people’s lives as possible.

“We receive hundreds of applications and requests from charities, organisations that help thousands of people on a daily basis, and being able to help so many of these worthwhile causes is an amazing feeling and one that we are all very proud of.”

Mr Fishwick says huge credit goes to David Henshaw and the whole Bank of Dave team in Burnley.
