Ball in memory of farrier William benefits Pendleside Hospice
William died in Pendleside before Christmas aged just 58 after a short battle with cancer. His wife Margaret, along with family and friends, decided to plan a ball in his memory and raise funds for the hospice which cared for William in his final days.
Margaret said: “Around 250 people attended the ball which was at Turf Moor in June, the day after William’s birthday. We had a raffle and an auction and raised £600 by asking people to guess how many horse shoe nails were in a glass jar.
