Baby airlifted to hospital after Clitheroe collision

An 18-month-old baby was airlifted to Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool with facial injuries shortly after 1 pm today after a collision on Worston Road, near Clitheroe.

A 45-year-old woman was also hurt following the collision with a white Vauxhall Corsa. She was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital with serious leg and facial injuries.

Police were called to the incident outside Standen Hall after reports that the car had collided with the woman and little boy.

A dog was also injured during the incident and has been taken to a local vets.

Part of Worston Road is closed while officers conduct their investigation.

A 17-year-old male from Skipton was arrested at the scene on suspicion of dangerous driving. He is in police custody.
