Awards handed out to Pendle Artists

Pendle Artists held their annual meeting in the Moorcock Inn, Blacko, with presentations made to the winners of the annual trophies, awarded after their successful exhibition at Nelson’s ACE Centre.

Visitors to the Pendle Artists’ 46th Annual Exhibition from March 22nd to May 3rd voted for an oil painting by Lesley O’Riordan, of Withnell, called “Stock Gill Force” as winner of the McKenzie-Folan Cup for Exhibitor of the Year.

Third place was tied by four artists: Joyce Kerton of Nelson with “Miss Attitude” (pastel), Sue Triggs of Cliviger with “Old Peggy” (charcoal), David Lyons of Barley with “The Newcomer” (oil) and the late Neil Terry of Nelson with “Pendle & Black Moss” (acrylic).

Neil, a former chairman of Pendle Artists, died on April 1st this year.
