Are you ready for Tour de France ‘Yellow Fever’?

Yellow cycling fever will reach epidemic levels in Yorkshire next Saturday as the Tour de France starts in Leeds for the first of two stages in the White Rose county.

But cycling is not just about the professionals riding at race pace, or indeed amateurs pedalling as fast as possible, as reporter Will Cook discovered on a beginner’s ride with Burnley and Pendle Cyclists’ Touring Club.

Here, ride leader and club member Ian Lowcock explains how cycling can be for everybody along a labyrinth of quiet lanes in stunning scenery in and around Burnley and Pendle.
