Appeal to trace missing woman

POLICE are appealing for information about a woman who has been missing from home for two weeks and was last seen in Burnley.

Ruth Sumner (43) has not been seen since 9am on Thursday, July 19th, when she left friend’s home in Victory Close, Nelson, where she had been staying

Ruth has only just returned to Nelson after living in Nottingham and police are concerned for her welfare.

PC Peter Chattle said: “We are concerned for Ruth’s welfare and would ask anybody that has seen Ruth in the last two weeks, been in contact with her or with any information about her current whereabouts to contact police on 101.”

Ruth is white, around 5ft. 5in. tall with long black hair.

The last confirmed sighting of her was in Burnley town centre on July 26th. Police are urging people to be vigilant and report any sightings to police.
