Appeal to trace missing farmer

POLICE are appealing for help to trace a man who went missing from his farm last night.

David Gott (54) set off from Higher Edge Farm in Slaidburn shortly before 11-30 p.m. to visit his brother at nearby Harrop Lodge Farm, but has not been seen since.

An extensive search involving the police helicopter, mountain rescue team and local police patrols has so far revealed no trace of Mr Gott and officers are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare.

Chief Insp. Justin Srivastava, who is helping co-ordinate the search, said: “Mr Gott has been missing for almost 12 hours now and we have had no sightings of him or contact from him so we are growing increasingly worried about his welfare. I would appeal for anyone who may have seen David or knows where he might be to get in touch with us.”

Anyone with information should contact Lancashire Police on 101 quoting log 1840 of May 11th .
