Abbie Louise Hargreaves (8) told her mum she wanted to help after seeing the video, so her mum told her about the charities you can donate too, and Abbie quickly said that was what she wanted to do.

Mum Bobbie-jane Hargreaves says she couldn’t be prouder of her daughter.

She said: “She had her hair all the way down to her lower back and said she wanted to donate it to children fighting cancer.

“So I contacted the Little Princess Trust UK and sent for the forms, we filled them out and then cut off her hair.

“I was scared she might be upset with being so young, but when I cut off the first plait she just smiled and said ‘it’s OK mummy it will grow.’”

“She’s such a happy and loving child, she loves helping people and is so happy to have done this, we’re so proud of her. She’s our little star.”
