300 say farewell to ‘Mr Burnley Light Opera’ Colin
About 300 people packed St Stephen’s CE Church to say a warm, humorous and musical farewell to one of Burnley’s best known figures.
Colin Sanderson who died aged 83 and was the man affectionately known as “Mr Burnley Light Opera”, was given a fitting farewell. Family and friends were joined by the great and the good from the world of amateur theatre, the legal profession, the world of sport, hospital radio, Rotary, Round Table, the Towneley Hall Society and so many more people and organisations who this popular man was associated with in “a life well lived”.
