2,000 people apply for 19 jobs at new Colne sofa store

After announcing the expansion in Pendle, the sofa retailer received more than 2,000 applications for the 19 positions advertised.

Area Sales Manager Adam Hankinson said: “I have been amazed by both the number of applications we’ve received – over 100 applications per job role - but also the high quality of candidates. We’ve recruited a great bunch people and I’m really excited about creating a new local team.”

The application process has now closed and many of the successful candidates are starting extensive training.

The new store, located on Boundary Retail Park, aims to become an integral part of the local community and the new team are looking forward to getting into their new store.

Adam added: “We are really looking forward to bringing DFS to Colne. The Boundary Retail Park site is a great location and we hope to add real value to the local community with the new store.

“I’m really excited as we’ve recruited a great bunch of people.”
