1,000 to set off on Pendle Pub Walk

A thousand fund-raisers will take to the scenic countryside surrounding Pendle Hill today (Saturday).

The annual Pendle Pub Walk has just about reached the 1,000 walkers limit.

And they will take part in a 13-mile, 13-pub walk to raise money for Pendlside Hospice and Rotary Club charities.

This year there are two start points - the Pendle Inn, Barley, and the Sparrow Hawk, Fence, and the walk takes in pubs throughout, Fence, Higham, Barley, Roughlee, Blacko and Barrowford.

Now firmly established in the hospice calendar, the walk is organised by the Rotary Club of Burnley Pendleside and is set to raise thousands of pounds.
