‘1,000 homes’ without power in Padiham

A flooded electricity substation has left approximately 1,000 homes without power in Padiham.

A spokesman for Electricity North West said engineers were working “as quickly as possible” to get people switched back on.

The River Calder earlier burst its banks after torrential rain swelled the watercourse to unprecedented levels flooding Padiham town centre.
