Clothing review: Didriksons Milo Kid’s Jacket, Wylie Kids Jacket and Pants and Splashboots

Children grow so quickly that most parents are loathe to splash out on coats which will only last a season.

So the brilliant idea by specialist Didriksons to make sure their coats can be adjusted once they become a bit tight is a big plus when buying.

Flora (5) tried out the new Milo jacket in dusky purple and boy did she look smart! It is fully waterproof and has special seams and lining for comfort. Made from polyamide and cotton fabrics, it is a lovely coat which Flora would happily have worn on the catwalk! And to make sure her feet were dry, she popped on a pair of Splashman Kid’s Boots which boast being 100 per cent waterproof and windproof and sure they were too as Flora tried them out at a Scottish windfarm on a wild and windy day and jumped in every puddle, but still came home with dry feet!

Ruaridh (8) needs good gear to help him keep dry when he hits the outdoors. A keen mountain biker, Ruaridh is always on the go.

I managed to get him to stop still for a minute or two while he tried out the Wylie Kids Jacket and Pants. This lightweight gear is waterproof and made from special material which will keep the bad weather at bay and it comes in some seriously cool colours! So there is no excuse, but to head outdoors!

Factfile: Wearing the right gear is essential to help the trip go well. The following items were tested out on a trip to Aviemore in Scotland. Check out www.didriksons.com for the latest range of smart clothing for adults and children alike.
