Top folk duo Marry Waterson and Oliver Knight appear in Mellor Brook

A RIBBLE Valley village has again struck folk music gold, securing the only North West show on a national tour by the widely accclaimed Marry Waterson and Oliver Knight.

It is the latest coup for Mellor Brook Community Centre, which has previously booked a range of high profile artists and is building a strong following for its regular music shows.

The brother and sister duo are son and daughter of the late Lal Waterson, a mainstay of the Brit-folk family group The Watersons until her death in 1998. The family group continues to perform and includes folk luminaries Martin and Eliza Carthy.
