Swishing fashion swap comes to Clitheroe

There’s a savvy new trend about to hit the streets of Clitheroe.

Swishing is the art of swapping clothes, giving girls a smarter, more fun and ethical way to update their wardrobes. It’s eco-fabulous, social and fun and it’s quickly becoming a global phenomenon as celebrities get in on the act with Gwyneth Paltrow and Sienna Miller declaring their love of swishing.

Girl’s Guide is encouraging women across Lancashire to bring the clothes they’ve outgrown (literally or stylistically) and swap them with like-minded fashion lovers at Swish for Victory, a swishing event at the St Mary’s Centre, in Paradise Lane, Clitheroe, on Friday, September 23rd. from 6 p.m.

Clever girls will be getting together for tea, cakes and some eco-friendly and new fashions. Simply bring along at least one piece of clothing, a handbag or an accessory from a corner of your closet and enjoy the swish.

You might arrive with a handbag and leave with a new pair of stilettos, or hang a vintage frock on the swishing rail and leave with some knitwear.

Save money, save the planet and have a party! Swishing is the perfect opportunity to combine glamour, fashion and gossip.

What’s more, there will be a charity raffle on the night with prizes including a statement necklace by Martine Wester, as worn by Amanda Holden.

Tickets cost £5 in advance and £6 on the door. Advance tickets are available via the Girl’s Guide website www.girlsguidehq.com
