‘Scream Park’ being built at Ribble Valley farm for Hallowe’en

Construction of one of the UK’s biggest scare entertainment parks is taking shape in the heart of the Ribble Valley countryside in time for Hallowe’en.

With six all new attractions, Scare Kingdom Scream Park, at Hawkshaw Farm Park, home to Mrs Dowson’s Ice Cream, in Longsight Road, re-opens for a third spooktacular year on Friday, October 21st, until Saturday, November 5th.

Since it opened in 2009 the attraction has been a sell-out success and last year attracted 10,000 thrill-seekers from across the UK and overseas.

Now the scream team behind the park plan to push the boundaries for 2011 with a feast of new frights combining claustrophobia, physical contact and state-of-the-art special effects to create an extreme scream experience at night and a family treat during the day.

TV presenter and creative director Jason Karl said: “This year looks set to be our scariest yet, with a whole host of horrifying attractions to entertain every type of guest, from those seeking a heart pounding fear fest, to those seeking light hearted spooky fun, Scare Kingdom caters for all, and is currently the UK’s only scream park offering all new attractions each and every year.”

This year’s evening fright fest houses two creepy corn maze attractions including the blood-soaked harvest of Voodoo Bayou and the festival of phantoms in Day of the Dead while the new and terrifying indoor scares include HMS Hell, a shipwreck of souls, and Blood Bath II, twisted terror in the meat locker.

All four headlining evening scare attractions combine actors, special effects, sounds and smells to create a unique, four-dimensional assault on the senses.

New for 2011, the licensed, Bloody Mary’s Bar, will be open each evening where a range of alcoholic and soft drinks will be available as well as a host of hot and cold food.
