Pendle Youth Choir to perform at Colne Muni

TALENTED Pendle youngsters will showcase their musical skills at the Muni Theatre, Colne, this weekend.

Organisers of Pendle Youth Choir’s “teenage talent” show on Sunday are also encouraging young people to attend the event – with free entry for under 18s.

Conductor David Wilkinson said: “We want this show to raise the profile of these incredibly talented young people, many of whom intend to go on to some of the country’s top music and dance schools.

“We also want to encourage their friends to come along and watch, so the show is free for students up to Year 13.”

The musicians and dancers will perform, along with the choir, an array of songs ranging from choral classics to modern pop hits.

The choir comes to the Muni after performing at St Mark’s Basilica in Venice last year and in 2011 they will travel to Barcelona and appear at the world famous Monastery Cathedral on Montserrat, Catalonia.

This show will help them to raise money for the forthcoming trip.
