Pendle Hill is muscial inspiration

SO often the subject of countless books and pictures, Pendle Hill has now been honoured through song courtesy of a talented song-writing duo.

Phil Holland and Dave Palmley, who live in Italy, penned the song “Climbing Pendle” for their latest album entitled “The Visit”.

Clarets fan Dave, who lived in Accrington before his move abroad and plays guitar and bass, frequently seeks inspiration from the great Lancashire landmark for his songs.

Alongside Phil, who plays the Celtic harp, electric harp and violin, the pair write, record and perform all their own music as well as traditional Celtic pieces.

Speaking about the song Phil said: “Dave has a strong spiritual connection with Pendle Hill, as of course do most people who live near it. It is a fascinating place with such an incredible history.
