Haslam Park, Ashton, Preston
Haslam Park sits alongside the Lancaster Canal and still possesses many of its original and unique features. The Grade II listed gates at the parks two main entrances are just some of the features that make this Edwardian park stand out from the rest.
The combination of the parks nature reserve, multiple pathways and paths joining the Lancaster Canal make for many enjoyable walks with a difference.
Within the park you can also enjoy a picturesque stroll down the lime tree avenue, pass some time in the rose and sensory gardens, admire the old drinking fountain and reflect by the ponds and lake.

Astley Park, Chorley
As you walk from one side to the other of this 43.75 hectares site, you will find several walkways that lead you to woodlands where you can spot the snowdrop trail or stumble amongst the summer flowers. Longton Brickcroft Nature Reserve, Longton, near Preston
This is a site of local conservation importance, managed as a wetland nature reserve.
It is comprised of three large ponds, with a number of smaller dipping ponds around the site. The ponds were formed by the excavations when the site was brickworks. The sites principle worth is as an amenity for local people since there are few sites in the area with public access, and in its wildlife interest. The ramble starts at the reserves car park, and takes you on a journey around the local scenery, where you can indulge in countryside with priceless natural beauty. | jpimedia
