A 1940s-themed fund-raiser to mark the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain raised £1,417 for the Burnley branch of the Royal British Legion.
The event was attended by ex-servicemen and was held at the Railway Club in Rosegrove. Club committee members and guests dressed in 1940s-style outfits and enjoyed live music from the era. They also tucked into a wartime buffet of spam and corned beef sandwiches, along with potato hash and black puddings.
Businesses and individuals donated prizes for the auction and raffles, which were held throughout the evening. Among the guests were members from the Burnley branch of the Royal British legion, some of whom had served on the Atlantic convoy.
Organiser Mr Wilf Dolman said: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the committee members, and their partners, at the Railway Club for their hard work and for the use of the club to hold our event. I would also like to thank everyone who joined us on the evening and helped us to make it a wonderful success.”
