Joy steps in to lead final music recital of season at St Peter’s

TOMORROW (Saturday) marks the last of this season’s music recitals at St Peter’s Church, Burnley.

The concert begins at 11 a.m. and will be given by Joy Fielding, who has worked extensively in Lancashire and is now involved in music outreach at Blackburn Cathedral where she runs the children’s choir and Lantern Voices and also accompanies Blackburn Music Society. She has stepped in to take the place of Jason Hawkins, who cannot perform his planned recital because of illness.

Miss Fielding studied at the Royal Northern College and later at Birmingham University before a teaching career led her to becoming head of music at Nortre Dame High School, Blackburn, and at Clitheroe Royal Grammar School.
