A drop-in exhibition will be held from 2pm – 8pm on Thursday in Brierfield Town Hall where plans of PEARL2’s latest housing scheme will be available to view.

The 46 home development is a mixture of semi-detached family homes and bungalows. The two and three bedroom houses will all have gardens and off-street parking.

Coun. Joe Cooney, Leader of Pendle Council and PEARL board member, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to come along and see what we’re proposing for Clitheroe Road.

“You can give us your views on the plans before the formal planning application is submitted to Pendle Council in mid-January.”

And the latest step in the Masterplan for Northlight, formerly Brierfield Mill, will also be available to view.

Coun. Cooney explained: “Details of a proposed hotel and activity centre will be on display.

“This takes forward the ideas set out in the Masterplan which was launched in November, 2013 and will be the subject of a planning application in January.

“The transformation of this iconic mill into a new multi-use destination is part of PEARL2’s ongoing plans for the wider Brierfield Canal Corridor area.

“With new housing on adjoining canal-sides, it’s really starting to emerge as an aspirational housing area.”

Councillors, PEARL board representatives and council staff will be available to talk through the plans for Clitheroe Road and Northlight at the drop-in event.
