With no sign of an early lift to lockdown restrictions, Diane Finch, Persimmon Homes Lancashire sales and marketing director, said there has been a considerable change in house-hunters’ wish lists.

She said she has noted a rise in demand for properties with space for working from home.

She said: “More and more buyers are looking for an extra reception room or bedroom that can be used as a home office.

Home offices are in demand among Lancashire house-hunters, according to a property expert.

“Our sales team has spotted a definite preference among the enquiries we receive at developments across the county.”

Persimmon said an example of this was its Deerwood Park development in Colne, where the Chedworth-style house, with a separate dining room and fourth bedroom and available from £245,000, is attracting a lot of interest.

Diane said: “Either can be transformed into a comfortable space to work or study, offering the perfect balance for busy families.”
