Anyone with an ounce of sense would agree that the first half of the year is just too soon, but it’s surprising how Christmas creeps up on us.

With 2022 set to be the first time in three years when we can all have a proper office shindig, let’s make it one to remember. Here’s an annual schedule to help you get prepared.

Summer

For many, fitting into that perfect wardrobe attire for Christmas takes a little more time and planning than we’d like it to.

If you want to tone up, give yourself a realistic timeframe to work from, with a good few months to perfect a fitness regime and healthy eating plan. Losing a pound a week for six months will shift nearly two stones.

August onwards– get party planning

There’s nothing quite like an office Christmas party, for high jinks, silly jokes and memories to make you giggle all year round. Get the pick of the best early on.

Take soundings for the budget you want to spend and shop around for the perfect night out for your team.

Hotel party nights can be tinsel-tastically good value, with food and entertainment included and the option to pick themed events.

Or go a little quirky and book an escape room, gin tasting experience or go-karting – not all at once.

October – the big day is looming

It’s time to order your big day turkey and trimmings, and reserve a real tree. If you haven’t done it already, book your hairdresser and nail technician today for your December party night. Slots will fill up fast.

November – lights switch on

If you’ve got youngsters – or feel young at heart – go to your nearest Christmas lights switch on, to get you into the festive spirit – you might see Santa, elves, reindeers carollers and other entertainment, to fill you with festive cheer.

December – pop on that Christmas jumper and party

This is the month to catch up with friends and family to eat, drink and be merry. If you plan to party hard, don’t forget to pre-book a taxi to ensure you get home safely, or book a room at your party venue. Many hotels do good deals for party night guests.
