Find out what it’s worth

A NEW face will join Silverwoods’ team of antique experts at a free valuation event for the general public at its Auction House on Lincoln Way, Clitheroe.

Kurt von Rügemer (39) is a qualified fine arts valuer, with previous experience at James Thompson of Kirkby Lonsdale and Keith Dennis Associates in Wigan.

He joins local valuer Jacquie Fairburn, director Hill Speak and auctioneer Wilf Mould at the event, which takes place on Tuesday November 8th from 2 to 7 p.m. It will give local people the opportunity to bring antiques, including quality ceramics, pictures, silver, jewellery, furniture and collectables, for free no-obligation identification and valuation. There is a limit of five items per visitor.

Kurt has a degree in Fine Arts Valuation from Southhampton Institute of Higher Education, as well as a Higher National Diploma in the History of Decorative Crafts and two qualifications from the National Association of Goldsmiths. He will join the team at Silverwoods every Monday, when the Clitheroe auction house is open for valuations and for booking items in for the company’s popular weekly auctions and bi-monthly Special Sales.

The October Special Sale was filmed by TV’s “Dickinson’s Real Deal” antiques programme to feature in four of its forthcoming episodes, with Silverwoods acting both as auctioneers for the programme and independent valuers at the programme’s “Dealer Day” in Colne a month before the auction.
