To mark the special day and get residents into the swing of things, professional entertainment was provided by the Riley Trio Band.

Peter Riley from the "Swing Commanders", Gaynor Sutcliffe and their daughter Maisie, took time out of their busy schedules to give a talented performance in 40’s style of swing and jazz. Everyone joined in with the sing-a-long. Peter and Gaynor played the piano, violin, and double base whilst Maisie, who attends The Junior Royal Northern College of Music, played her saxophone.

A spokesman said: "The heavens opened just before their performance was due to commence outside under a gazebo, but thankfully, in the nick of time, glorious sunshine broke out which added to everyone’s enjoyment. Resident and retired pilot, Clifford Roberts, also celebrated his 98th birthday with a huge cake from his family which was shared to everyone. A fantastic memorable Father’s Day was enjoyed by all."
