Beth Schinkel is already three days into the 30 day challenge to run 10k every day, as part of her permitted one hour exercise.

And so far she has raised £195 towards her £2,000 target. Three people signed up to her join within hours of her announcing the challenge and they are Gemma Astin, who is Beth's sister-in-law and also Carole Radcliffe and Claire Lord.

And Beth, who lives in the Ightenhill area, would like to get as many people as possible on board by either running, walking or simply making a donation. She said: "The more the merrier! You don't have to do 10k and you don't have to run it either, you can walk.

"It's a great way to use our one hour of exercise a day for a really good cause to provide this vital equipment."

Beth was inspired to lace up her running shoes by Burnley plumber James Anderson, who, under the umbrella of his community interest company DEPHER (Disabled and Elderly Plumbing and Heating Emergency Response) is helping to provide PPE for keyworkers across Burnley and Pendle.

Beth works as a doula at the Burnley based Snowdrop Doula, a community interest company which provides antenatal, birth and postnatal support in Lancashire.

Married to Getty, the couple have five children between them who are Megan (20), 17-year-old William, Hayden and Annie who are both 10 and four-year-old Maggie.

This is not the first time Beth has used her running skills to help a good cause. In 2017 she ran 100 miles in four days to help a stroke victim from Clitheroe. And her magnificent achievement raised £1,500 to buy a motorised wheelchair.
