Olivia (18), who previously attended Ribblesdale High School in Clitheroe, is close to completing the College’s Business (Law) Level 3 Extended Diploma.

After finishing her course, and when it is safe to do so, she plans on attending an interview for a Project Management Degree Apprenticeship at BAE Systems.

If Olivia isn’t offered the role, she has plans to study BA (Hons) Business Management at the University Centre at Blackburn College.

Olivia said: “If I get offered the place at BAE, I will take it and hopefully progress there. If not, I will go to university then hopefully gain a job within management. Blackburn College has helped me by keeping track of my progress to ensure I get the best grades to help me in the future. The tutors helped me make a career plan and provided great support with things like UCAS. They also made sure I was well prepared by starting applications early and giving myself time to research different options. College ensured that our work experience was complete and career meetings were in place to give guidance for our next steps.”

Blackburn College’s Business (Law) Level 3 Extended Diploma is a two-year course designed as a specialist programme for students who wish to have a wide range of options for pursuing a career in a legal or business environment.
