Derek Derbyshire, who has been playing the instrument he loves for an incredible 42 years, leads the Thursday night ritual outside his home in Bowness Road, Padiham.

Hide AdPlaying a selection of anthems his chosen one last week was The Bloody Fields of Flanders. He has also played the hugely popular Scotland the Brave.
Derek (54) served with the Ist Battalion Royal Scots and also teaches the bagpipes at the Scots Guards Association Pipes and Drums in Manchester so he is well known across the area as a master of the instrument.
Originally from Burnley Derek has lived in Padiham for around 20 years with his wife Suvena who he is a full time carer for.
Derek's brother Trevor also plays the bagpipes every Thursday for residents joining the NHS tribute where he lives in Burnley.
