

These are the UK industries where you’re most likely to find a new job fast
A survey carried out by Totaljobs has revealed that 70 per cent of job seekers are now more likely to consider working in a different industry due to the pandemic.
At the start of lockdown in March, unemployment surged by 125.9 per cent, accounting for more than 1.6 million people looking for work. This has made competition for jobs fierce. So, to help job seekers, here’s a list of the industries which are most likely to be hiring.

1. IT and digital technology
The IT sector is expanding, with software engineers, web developers, and online security specialists being more in demand as firms adapt to meet the challenges of a more online based market. Photo: Shutterstock

2. Supermarkets / grocery retail
UK supermarkets have taken on more than 50,000 workers since the start of the pandemic as sales increased. With this higher profit, supermarkets are continuing to recruit to meet higher demand online and in store. Photo: Shutterstock

3. Teaching and tutoring
The Educational Institute of Scotland says more teachers will be essential as schools emerge from lockdown. New teachers will also now receive a 5.5 per cent pay rise from September 2020, so this could be a more profitable time to get into teaching. Photo: Shutterstock
