Colne Muni turns into mini Wigan casino for soul anniversary

A TWELFTH anniversary celebration is coming to the Muni as Colne’s big soul night returns on Saturday, August 13th.

The evening will celebrate 12 years of Northern Soul and Motown at one of East Lancashire’s finest soul dance venues.

Dubbed a mini “Wigan Casino” after the famous club, local DJ kings of soul Ginger and Roman will be joined by guests Roy Speed, Shaun Fitton and Billy Foster to take you through the night.

The best classic soul music from the 60s and 70s will be played harking back to the halcyon days of clubs such as Twisted Wheel in Manchester and Locarno in Birmingham.

To mark the occasion, the first two hours of the night will be dedicated to Motown and then the remainder of the night will be focused on the usual mix of Northern Soul.

CD compilations featuring music played during the last 12 years will be handed out and other on the spot prizes will also be up for grabs.

So don’t forget your dancing shoes and get down to this unmissable celebration of soul.

Doors open at 7-15 p.m. for an 8 p.m. start. Tickets are available from the Muni Box Office by calling 661234 and on the door on the night for the price of £5.
