Blaze Boy and JAM make charity CD ‘Don’t Give Up’

MUSIC-LOVING young people from St Peter’s Church, Burnley, are putting their considerable talents to charitable use.

Hip-hop artist Mthabisi “Adriano” Nyathi and JAM (Jesus And Me), a group comprising Ezra Sundar (drums), Eleanor Tomlinson (flute), Khumbalani Nyathi (assistant drums) and Janet Sundar (keyboard) have been producing a single to raise funds for the church.

“Don’t Give Up (Remake)” was written by Adriano, whose stage name is Blaze Boy, and is about people dealing with the problems inflicted on them by the recession and keeping the faith.

“Different groups were given £10 and the challenge is to try to turn that into as much money as possible. We decided to record a track and try to make the money back by selling CDs and selling it online,” said Adriano, whose profile can be found on where he is the number one ranked hip hop artist in the North-West despite being just 17.

“I like my songs to have a meaning. This is one I have recorded before but I’ve changed some of the lyrics and there is more music with it.”

The CD will be available to buy from St Peter’s Church from Sunday, July 31st, for £1 and will be available to download through Check out for a sneak preview, too.
