Walk around the world in a mile
The campaign aims to get at least 24,901 people throughout Lancashire to take part in the Your Mile Your Way challenge and complete the amount of miles it would take to walk around the world.
Your Mile Your Way is being coordinated by Lancashire County Council as part of its Active Lives and Healthy Weight programme. Leisure providers who deliver the programme in each area – including Burnley Leisure Trust’s Up and Active team - will all be running activities on May 18th.

Hide AdThe campaign is being fronted in Lancashire by radio personality Ted Robbins who adopted a healthier lifestyle after suffering a heart attack in 2015.
The Up and Active team want people to join them on a walk starting from the Leeds and Liverpool Canal tow path at Finsley Gate (2pm) and completing the Straight Mile, finishing at Thompson Park Boathouse around 3pm for light refreshments.
For those who fancy an alternative, you can join in by dancing a mile at Thompson Park and learn a FitSteps (9-30am) or line dancing routine (10-30am).
Alternatively, go along to St Peter’s or Padiham leisure centres or do your own thing, just as long as you remember to pledge your mile via the Your Mile Your Way website - www.yourmileyourway.co.uk

Anyone and everyone can join in and help to achieve the target of completing the amount of miles it would take to walk around the world - as long as you remember to pledge your mile http://www.upandactive.co.uk/activities/events/health-week-2018/
