The site, located across from Burnley Bus Station, is running each day between 10am – 3pm this week with tests available to anybody, symptomatic or not.

It has been set-up in response to the local lockdown which has seen people within the borough unable to meet with others indoors since July 31st.

"This is a really important tool in that it allows us to see what is happening locally. As we started to see the number of cases rise it was crucial that we increased our local testing capacity and this pop-up site forms part of that.

"I’m continuing to work with the Health Secretary to do everything we can to be able to lift the restrictions in our borough and testing is a key part of that. That’s why I’m encouraging as many people as possible to get tested.

"I’d also like to say a big thank-you to those manning the site."

Anybody aged over 18 years old can get a test free of charge and no booking is required.
