Our Lancashire and Lancashire Volunteer Partnership aim to establish county-wide support network

Urging people to sign up and show their support for their communities during the coronavirus pandemic, Lancashire Volunteer Partnership and Our Lancashire have committed to providing a county-wide support network for those affected by the crisis.

With both organisations having been established with the help of the Police and Crime Commissioner, Clive Grunshaw, to help people in need, the two groups are appealing for volunteers to help vulnerable people either as telephone befrienders or via more active roles supporting a local district community hub.

With Our Lancashire already working to support district councils via their network of 75,000 group members, they are also on the lookout for people to help deliver a range of activities aimed to ensure that vulnerable people get the support they require during period of isolation. This can range from a weekly welfare call to picking up shopping or other essentials.
