Easter egg treats will be cracking surprise for 200 youngsters thanks to Padiham based childcare club

Around 200  Easter eggs have been donated to schools, childminders and nurseries across Padiham, Read, Simonstone and Sabden for the children of key workers

Padiham based Blooming Buds Childcare managers Kirsten Cross and Lisa Brown and their staff came up with the idea and were overwhelmed with the magnificent response to their appeal for chocolate treats.

Sarah Bruce was responsible for contacting local businesses and organisations for donations including an incredible 80 eggs donated by Burnley based Positive Footprints.

Sarah was also the one who went round collecting all the eggs ready for distribution in time for Easter Sunday.

Kirsten said: "We are still working and offering our services for all key workers and we also work very closely with the schools.

"We did this to help put a smile on the faces of our children who have been amazing.

"We haven't had one child moan or complain about any changes to their normal day to day life."

Lauren and her team have also sent out a big thank you to everyone who made a donation to their Easter egg collection. Any that are left over will be donated to the Burnley food bank.
