The children were given the challenge by principal Andy Cooke who said: "All the staff at Basics are missing the students and we wanted to keep them busy while they are off school.

"We wanted to share the messages with the people of Burnley and we hope they make you smile as much as they made us smile.

"I want to thank the students for sending us their work, the posters are amazing and the messages to anybody feeling sad in isolation are beautiful."

Formed 30 years ago Basics Theatre School is a dedicated junior musical theatre and performing arts school providing theatre arts and vocal training for youngsters aged four to 19.
