The treats were given out at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust, and also to staff at Airedale General Hospital, as a token of appreciation for the hard work the teams are doing to keep communities safe during the pandemic.

The gifts came from Delta Taxis, which operates across Burnley and Pendle, as a morale booster for the NHS workers.

"It is important to recognise that, as well as the doctors and nurses, it's the porters, cleaners and a whole host of other personnel who work within the hospitals keeping our communities safe.

"This was a small token of appreciation for the wonderful work they do."

Delta Taxis has continued to run throughout the pandemic and was among the first to offer a shopping delivery service for NHS workers.
