Burnley dog blood donors could save lives of 48 pets
The lives of up to 48 dogs could be saved thanks to the sterling efforts of generous canines who donated blood with Pet Blood Bank (PBB) on World Blood Donor Day on June 14.
An amount of 12 units was donated at Oakmount Veterinary Centre on Trafalgar Street in Burnley by a raft of magnanimous mutts to treat their fellow pooches in peril.
Jenny Walton, Veterinary Supervisor for PBB, said: “It was great to be able to celebrate World Blood Donor Day at Oakmount Vets in Burnley.
“We’d like to say a huge thank you to all our fantastic donors and owners who took the time to come along to the session as well as a big thanks to our colleagues at Oakmount for hosting us.”
The PBB, a UK-based charity, was launched in 2007 and celebrated its 7,000th lifesaver milestone in February.
