And those taking part in the initial ChamberLive ‘Lunge and Learn’ session are being encouraged to hunt out their spandex and day-glo leg warmers as the workout will have a fun 1980s theme.

“During Covid-19 lockdown, we were able to move all our classes online for our members to keep them motivated and in shape and we’ve also played our part in keeping the

community active, too, with Facebook live workouts for staff, students and those living in the Burnley area who want to keep active.

“We’d love to see as many members of the business community as possible – whether you’re self-employed, a manager or employee – join in.

The sessions are free to those who register to take part and it’s a great opportunity to take a trip back in time to the ‘80s and keep moving.

“You really don’t need to be an athlete to take part and it’s the ideal way to weave a break from your computer and digital devices into your day: we all need to ensure we’re having enough screen breaks while working from home. ”

Paul Sharples, business development manager at Themis, the business training and apprenticeship arm of Burnley College, added: “We’re proud members of East Lancs Chamber of Commerce and have really benefited from the advice and guidance they have shared during these unprecedented times.

"We wanted to repay the favour and offer our fellow members – and the wider business community – the chance to benefit from our amazing team at Fitness Evolution.

"They’re really leading the way keeping the region fit, offering personal training sessions, online sessions which can be delivered in the workplace or at home for employers and, of course, making sure that their members and the wider Burnley College family are maintaining their great health and fitness habits.

“It’s going to be a great opportunity to stay in touch with other businesses across the region – and do some networking, too – that’s if you have enough breath left after being put through your paces.”

Simon Brierley, membership director at the East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, said: “We’re very excited by this expansion of ChamberLIVE into the health and fitness arena.

"Over the last two months, thousands of people have joined our online webinars, to learn, share and network during these unprecedented times.

"I’m looking forward to seeing familiar faces and new faces having fun and getting physical, and if I’m honest a little nervous of being pushed out of my comfort zone. I’m more used to lunch and learn than lunge and learn!”
