Patients enjoyed complimentary treatments, and one lucky person won a luxury pamper hamper worth £1000 in the grand draw, picked out by Love Island contestant and Burnley lad Dean Overson.

The specially made anniversary cake was cut by patient June Rosser.

"Patients before profit" is the company's mantra and could be considered the secret to Discover Laser’s success.

Dr Montero said: “The past 10 years have flown.

"Thinking back, it’s hard to take in how far we’ve come and how much we’ve achieved.

“It started with me juggling my career as a GP and working in the clinic on evenings and weekends.

"As the business began to thrive, I decided in 2015 to quit as a GP and focus on the clinic and aesthetics full time.

"It was the hardest decision of my career but since then, we’ve gone from strength to strength.”

The team beat six other finalists, ranging from Birmingham to the Scottish borders, to take home the trophy for Best Clinic North England at the renowned Aesthetics Awards.

But is hasn't been all plain sailing for the company with the global economic crisis hitting hard in 2012.

Clinic Director Gill said: “We sat it out and continued to market our business, which is vital for surviving an economic downturn. Thanks to this approach, and our loyal patients, we lived to tell the tale.”

Dr Montero continues to research and trial the latest equipment and his expertise as a teacher takes him all over the globe.
