Tree planting ceremony marks Armistice 100 for Burnley students

A commemorative oak tree has been planted at Burnley's Sir John Thursby Community College.

The tree was donated to the school by Burnley Council as part of the commemorations to mark the 100th anniversary of the end of World War One.

One hundred trees have been donated to schools across the borough for the anniversary.

Students also created a sea of poppies around the school with their own personal words of remembrance on them
